Smoky Mountains National Park is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  It spans the TN-NC border for about 70 miles.  The national park has 520,976 acres. The highest elevation in the park is 6,643 feet at the top of Clingmans Dome. Temperatures can vary 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit from mountain base to mountain top. Clear and pleasant skies at lower elevations do not promise pleasant weather on the higher peaks such as Clingmans Dome. With so much to do in the Smoky Mountains, you will never get board and return to the Smoky Mountains year after year.

The Smoky Mountains National Park is a hiker's playground with over 800 miles of maintained trails. The Smoky Mountain trails range from short hikes to long tiring trails that may require backcountry camping. However, hiking is not the only reason for visiting the Smoky Mountains. Fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing are a few more popular activities and attractions in the Smoky Mountains. The Smoky Mountains are beautiful all year so plan your next trip to the Smoky Mountains.

Gatlinburg TN in the Smoky Mountains

Gatlinburg Tennessee is a quaint little town nestled between the Great Smoky Mountains.  Not to mention the hundreds of Gatlinburg cabin rentals, there are many shops, restaurants, and candy stores to make your vacation enjoyable. Come and enjoy Gatlinburg Tennessee. The most visited times in Gatlinburg are during the summer months to the very end of December. The streets are flooded with tourists and locals enjoying the serene atmosphere of Gatlinburg TN!

Pigeon Forge TN in the Smoky Mountains

Pigeon Forge TN is surrounded on two sides by the Smoky Mountains and its visitors annually reach close to 11 million.  It is close to Dollywood, Comedy Barn, Old Mill, other great shows, Outlet Malls, and has many great Pigeon Forge Cabins.

Pigeon Forge, like Gatlinburg TN, is very busy from June to late December through January 1. Almost all cabin rentals in the area are booked and the town is packed from morning till night! If you are looking for the most peaceful time to visit Pigeon Forge, then vacate in February. Although cold, the town is visited during this month.
