Smoky Mountains
National Park is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It spans the TN-NC
border for about 70 miles. The national park has 520,976 acres. The
highest elevation in the park is 6,643 feet at the top of Clingmans
Dome. Temperatures can vary 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit from mountain base
to mountain top. Clear and pleasant skies at lower elevations do not
promise pleasant weather on the higher peaks such as Clingmans Dome.
With so much to do in the Smoky Mountains, you will never get board and
return to the Smoky Mountains year after year.
The Smoky Mountains National Park is a hiker's playground with over 800
miles of maintained trails. The Smoky Mountain trails range from short
hikes to long tiring trails that may require backcountry camping.
However, hiking is not the only reason for visiting the Smoky Mountains.
Fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing are a few more popular activities
and attractions in the Smoky Mountains. The Smoky Mountains are
